Lacking confidence

Justin and OCTEC career consultant smiling at Justin's place of employment

The Entrance (Central Coast – 10 January 2018

Justin first started with OCTEC in the Transition to Work program in 2018 and his consultant found he was extremely quiet and lacked confidence.

Justin’s consultant Jamie knew he needed a qualification to help him start his Transition to Work journey from.

Within 6 weeks of starting Justin enrolled into the Australian Retailers Association’s Certificate III in Retail which he completed on 23 November 2017.

Justin is incredibly proud for finishing as this was the first certificate he has ever gained. Completing this course boosted Justin’s self-esteem and gave him a drive to succeed. It was a pleasure to see him come out of his shell.

Upon completion of his course Justin set himself 2 goals. Getting his provisional driver’s license and gaining full time employment. To assist Justin in achieving these goals Jamie organised a spot in the PCYC Safer Driver course. As a result, Justin gained his full provisional license.

Jamie found a job vacancy as a sander/factory hand with Planit Kitchens where Justin was successful through the interview process and in gaining the position.

Planit Kitchens are very impressed with Justin and his drive to undertake tasks and learn new skills, they see his employment as being long term and sustainable well into the future. Justin is pictured with Ashley Dauson from Planit Kitchens
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Justin and Jamie on their hard work and a fantastic outcome. Happy 2018 Justin!
