Crown Award – 14th July 2017


OCTEC had the pleasure of awarding Grainne Hickland from Crownability with our Champion of Inclusive Employment Award.

Crownability utilises pre-employment strategies in conjunction with OCTEC to ensure our participants are job ready for Crown's food and beverage, gaming, hotel and corporate services.

OCTEC is proud to be working with a progressive and inclusive employer like Crown that is dedicated to focusing on the ability of our participants.


Saronbell Award – Friday 28th July 2017


Central Coast employer Saronbell Pty Ltd was recognised by OCTEC for their commitment to employment diversity.

Matt Ferrier and Marc Anderson from our Central Coast DES team along with Chloe Butler from Transition to Work, presented Gary Haydunk and Chelsea Allmon with our National Champion of Inclusive Employment Award.

Their dedication to disability and youth employment on the Central Coast and the level of support they’re giving to our participants makes Saronbell a very worthy award recipient.


Happy Feet Award – Tuesday 22nd August 2017

Congratulations to the Happy Feet Childcare Centre in Orange on receiving our National Champion of Inclusive Employment Award.

OCTEC Ltd would like to thank Jenny Doueihi and her team for supporting inclusive employment over many years.

Their commitment to people with disability in a regional area should be recognised and celebrated. We’re very proud to be able to do both.


Glacia Award – Friday 6th October 2017


We were proud to present our National Champion of Inclusive Employment award to Great Lakes Aged & Invalid Care Association.

GLAICA's involvement with OCTEC has afforded our Forster-Tuncurry participants amazing opportunities in Nursing and Aged Care.

OCTEC Ltd Manning Regional Manager Robyn Ballard and Manning consultant Michelle Lansdowne happily presented GLAICA'S General Manager John Quinn and Residential Care Manager Jo Bain with their award.

We would like to thank GLAICA for recognising the abilities of people with disability.

Purrfect Pets Award – Friday 19th May 2017


A huge congratulations to another of our Inclusive Employment Champions, Purrfect Pet Products at Penrith.

Business co-owner, Chris Allchin, received his award from Penrith City Council Mayor and disability rights advocate, John Thain (pictured below).

Chris spoke about how impressed he was by OCTEC's advocacy for our participants and the amount of time spent making sure they’re happy and supported. Thanks to Chris and John for their significant contributions to changing the lives of people with disability in Penrith!

Congratulations and thanks from all at OCTEC to Robyn and Adam Jacobsson of Scandinavian Profiles, a plasterboard profiling business based in Ingleburn.

Scandinavian Profiles has been presented with OCTEC's National Employer Award as a Champion of Inclusive Employment. Their support of people with disability is having a major impact on our participants who work with them at their business.

Robyn and Adam are pictured here with Councillor Karen Hunt of Campbelltown Council who kindly attended our awards ceremony and made the presentation.

Go Troppo Award – Thursday 1st  June 2017

Go Troppo

OCTEC’s ACT & Queanbeyan team proudly presented an Inclusive Employer Champion award to Frank and Joel Commisso of Go Troppo Fruit Market.

Go Troppo is a family run fruit and vegetable market that has a strong reputation for supplying fresh and seasonal produce to local restaurants, and has also given a number of OCTEC participants the opportunity to get a start and learn the ropes! A big thank you goes to Frank and Joel for working in partnership with OCTEC to change the lives of people with disability in Canberra.
