Wage assistance during the early stages of employment, when new staff are learning the ropes and working towards full productivity, is one of the key supports that OCTEC provides to employers.
Wage assistance takes two forms. The first is facilitating access to any government wage subsidies that are available including making it as easy as possible for our employers to complete the relevant paperwork for these important programs. The second is OCTEC-funded wage assistance provided as part of a customised Biz Support Package.
The level of wage assistance we provide is tailored to the needs of the job seeker, i.e. skill levels, recency and relevance of work experience, productivity levels and support needs, as well as to the needs of the employer, i.e. size of the business, supervisory and training resources, and mentoring expertise.
