Quick Start

Ensuring your new staff are well-prepared and ready to start their new role, with assistance tailored to benefit your business.

Biz Support QuickStart can cover training to ensure new staff are appropriately skilled. It’s designed to minimise any short-term impact that can be experienced in the initial period after hiring a new employee.


Provides ongoing training and development to ensure new employees remain productive and become long term employees.

Can include:

  • Financial support to provide on-the-job training for employees
  • Accredited training certificates or licences for new staff
  • Traineeship and Apprenticeship pathways for your staff
  • Access to OCTEC Training Services to support your business.


Assessment and facilitation of a mentor should your new staff member require it.

The provision of a formal or informal mentor can be arranged in or out of the workplace. This could be a fellow worker, community mentor or OCTEC Career Consultant. Support supervisors assist those living with disability adapt work processes.

Wage Assistance

Biz Support Wage Assistance payments can be made at regular intervals throughout their employment to assist you as a business owner.

Further, we have access to other government-funded wage subsidy programs, dependent on eligibility. We can also support your business to host a young person’s unpaid internship to discover if they’d suit the position.

Post Placement Support

Assists with the provision of uniform, equipment other requirements, including and required workplace modifications.

Examples are: PPS, high visibility workwear, steel-capped boots and other relevant footwear, tools.

It can also assist funding work-related modifications and services.
